Travel expenses $0.00 $2,000.00 $2,000.00 TOTAL $ 15,000.00 $ 7,964.00 $22,964,00 Please provide a brief narrative justification for each expense.* With the Iris Project,we propose to find forever homes for 30 dogs selected from AC.We will accomplish this goal in 3 ways: 1)fostering 2)boarding,and 3)flying out to mainland rescues.Each expense is justified as follows: Operations: We would like to board 5 dogs at Pampered Pooch per month.Cost of boarding 5 dogs/month for 1 year at $560/month=$6,720.00. Supplies: We want to always have at least 5 dogs in foster care.A4A will provide a"Foster Kit"consisting of the first week of food,along with a leash,a collar and a yellow'Adopt Me'vest with an estimated cost of$50/kit x 30 dogs= $1,500.00(included in Supplies budget line) A4A supplies the food for the dogs boarded at Pampered Pooch,which is estimated at$100.00/month x 12 months=$1,200.00/year(included in Supplies budget line). A4A supplies the flea/heartworm medications for all foster/boarded dogs,which is estimated at$20/month per dog x 10 dogs/month x 12 months=$2,400 per year(included in Supplies budget line). Total supplies budget:$1,500.00(foster kit)+$1,200,00(food)+$2,400.00(medications)=$5,100.00 Equipment: For the flyouts,we will need transport kennels for 8 dogs. If not returned,then the price for each 400 series dog kennel is$180.00.The total for transport kennels is$180.00 x 8=$1,440.00(included in the Equipment budget line). Veterinary services: A4A is estimating veterinary services,including:necessary veterinary visits of$3,000,00. Health Check(for travel) A4A is estimating$1,504.00 for each Health check,Health Certificate.and rabies vaccination needed for flyouts ($188.00 x 8 dogs). Transportation: The cost of transporting each dog to the mainland is$300.00/dog x 8 dogs=$2,400.Overnight boarding between flights is often necessary at a cost of$100/dog x 8=$800.The cost of flights and overnight boarding are included in the Transportation line item in the budget for a total of$3,200,00.
