.JNS•r'OF H..k••'. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :•� `'''°= • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> j••�M <br /> E•pF•Nt� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 458 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br /> RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH <br /> EXPENSES RELATED TO THE 2024 KA`U COFFEE FESTIVAL. <br /> WHEREAS,the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council <br /> (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the economic, cultural, and natural <br /> environment of Hawai`i Island through sponsorship of festivals,programs, and special events <br /> unique to this island; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is working in partnership with the Ka`u Coffee Growers <br /> Cooperative to coordinate the 2024 Ka`u Coffee Festival, which will be held on June 1-8, 2024, <br /> in Pahala and showcase the culture, heritage, and natural beauty of Ka`u; and <br /> WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funding assistance for National and International <br /> marketing, content creator services to promote the festival on social media, administrative fees, <br /> and printing of posters, banners, t-shirts, and rack cards; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this event as it is in <br /> alignment with its goals and objectives of the department to increase consumption of local <br /> agricultural and value-added products at local, national, or international levels; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to the Big Island Resource Conservation and <br /> Development Council to assist with expenses related to the 2024 Ka`u Coffee Festival. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
