OJNtV�Oi N,� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ' • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> :.� ._ :owe::• <br /> F•N�,M�_. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 459 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAI`I FOR ITS COMMUNITY-BASED REENTRY AND RECOVERY HOUSING <br /> PROGRAM IN KONA. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to assist <br /> those that have been released from correctional institutions to reintegrate into the community; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's Reentry and Recovery Housing Program in Kona <br /> assists men and women with reintegration into community life through employment, housing, <br /> education, and appropriate services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's Reentry and Recovery Housing apartment complex <br /> in Kona is in need of a camera surveillance system for monitoring common areas to prevent <br /> incidents and deter negative behaviors, all of which is conducive to maintaining a supportive <br /> environment for restoration and recovery, thereby promoting reintegration into the community; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is seeking funds to purchase a camera surveillance <br /> system for its apartment complex in Kona to ensure the safety and security of its program <br /> participants and residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to improve the <br /> criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working collaboratively with other <br /> criminal justice agencies and the community; and _ <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i for its community-based <br /> Reentry and Recovery Housing Program in Kona. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
