-49_f.... <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •' `': '/ • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �rE.°F.NF,� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 467 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> ADULT CARE FOR ITS CARE-OKE FOR KUPUNA EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island Adult Care (HIAC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> that has been providing services for kupuna, challenged adults, families, and caregivers since <br /> 1976; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIAC is creating a signature event called Care-oke for Kupuna to help raise <br /> funds for its adult day care program, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Sangha <br /> Hall; and <br /> WHEREAS, Care-oke for Kupuna is a free, family-friendly community event that will <br /> celebrate music, singing, and caring for our kupuna through a community karaoke competition; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, HIAC is requesting funding to cover the expenses for the venue rental, <br /> security, insurance, decorations, banners, posters, flyers, graphic designer, social media <br /> advertising and marketing, radio advertising, karaoke system with lights, photography and <br /> photobooth, videography, and live streaming the event for those who are unable to attend in <br /> person; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of Aging has partnered with HIAC in the past and supports its <br /> mission to optimize the health, safety, and independence of Hawai`i's older adults; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br /> provide a grant to HIAC for its Care-oke for Kupuna event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
