JNSYfGs N,�1 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 472 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO <br />EDUCATION ARTS REPERTORY THEATRE FOR ITS "HEART: FREE CONCERTS <br />IN THE PARK" SERIES. <br />WHEREAS, the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) is a 501(c)(3) <br />nonprofit organization whose mission is to present theater, offer arts education, and provide <br />theater -going opportunities to the community; and <br />WHEREAS, HEART has produced recent community showings of Beauty and the <br />Beast, Biloxi Blues, Home for the HiloDays, LGBTQ Pride Day Concert, Cabaret, The Lion <br />King Jr., and Grease; and <br />WHEREAS, HEART offered free, family -friendly community concerts at Lincoln Park <br />last year and will be offering a similar series of five free concerts over the next few months; and <br />WHEREAS, HEART is requesting funding to cover the expenses for banners, costumes <br />for the performers, rental of a rehearsal space, rental and operation of the sound equipment, and <br />payment for a musical director for its "HEART: Free Concerts in the Park" series; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports organizations that can <br />provide diversified recreation programs that address the needs and interests of the respective <br />communities in a safe environment; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks -and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre for its <br />"HEART: Free Concerts in the Park" series. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
