COUNTY OF HAWAI`I •� �" % •- STATE OF HAWAI`I Ott GF•H,� RESOLUTION NO. 47? 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF CITRIC ACID TO CONTROL THE COQUI FROG INFESTATION IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 6. WHEREAS, residents of Hawai`i County continue to be challenged with the coqui frog infestation; and WHEREAS, the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council (BIRCDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose vision is to conserve, enhance, and promote the economic, cultural, and natural environment of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, the BIRCDC is requesting funds to purchase citric acid to assist West Hawai`i residents in Council District 6 with controlling coqui frogs in their neighborhoods; and WHEREAS, one of the objectives of the Department of Research and Development is to support research or extension projects on invasive species, such as the coqui frog; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to the BIRCDC for the purchase of citric acid to control the coqui frog infestation in Council District 6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
