WHEREAS, the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival supports Miss Kona Coffee's community <br /> service projects and educational activities and is requesting funds to rent a water slide and to <br /> purchase light refreshments, snacks, and lunch as specified in the various projects and activities <br /> listed above; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> programs for youth that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment, <br /> such as the community service projects and educational activities with Miss Kona Coffee; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival for expenses related to the <br /> community service projects and educational activities with Miss Kona Coffee. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $5,000 <br /> CREDITED TO: <br /> 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $5,000 <br /> Public Programs <br /> 115 Misc. Contract Services <br /> (Kona Coffee Cultural Festival—Miss <br /> Kona Coffee-Projects and Activities) <br /> 2 <br />
