<br /> The 27.38 acre parcel located in Pu'uanahulu Ahupua'a in North Kona is currently owned by Waikoloa
<br /> Land and Cattle Company and was originally purchased for the purpose of expanding the Waikoloa Beach
<br /> Resort. Within this property is a concentrated and extensive network of intact ancient and historic trails
<br /> that serve as a connection between numerous significant biological-cultural areas including but not
<br /> limited to Keahualono Heiau, Hi'iakaika'ale'i Heiau, abrader quarries, habitation caves and complexes,
<br /> and countless petroglyphs.This coastal property is populated with native •insects, native crustaceans, and
<br /> native plants, including the rare endemic Hawaiian caper, the native 'opae'ula (Halocardina
<br /> rubra)maiapilo(Capparis sandwichiana) and the Halo meli maoli, or yellow-faced bees(Hylaeus sp.).
