J�tv oc\;'. • COUNTY OF HAWAI`I -•° �:' /i•- STATE OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 496 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAI`I ISLAND LGBTQ PRIDE TO SUPPORT ITS 12TH ANNUAL PRIDE FESTIVAL. WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island LGBTQ Pride is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for youth and the community to gather together and celebrate love, diversity, and equality; and WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island LGBTQ Pride's 12th Annual Pride Festival brings members of the LGBTQ community together to affirm their fundamental rights and place in Hawai`i County; and WHEREAS,the 12th Annual Pride Festival will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Mo`oheau Park bandstand; and WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island LGBTQ Pride is requesting funds to cover expenses for sound equipment rental fees, volunteer materials, keiki area and activities, security, and porta- potty rentals for its 12th Annual Pride Festival; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that promote family-friendly events and activities in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Island LGBTQ Pride to support its 12th Annual Pride Festival. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
