STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> •l .,OFM.'�' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 50 5 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY, <br /> CLIMATE,EQUITY AND RESILIENCE'S PILOT PROGRAM TO PROVIDE ZERO <br /> WASTE SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS FOR PUBLIC MEETINGS. <br /> WHEREAS,the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience (OSCER) was <br /> created to coordinate and manage policies and programs to address sustainability, mitigate <br /> greenhouse gas emissions, and adapt to the impacts of climate change and other natural and <br /> human caused hazards; and <br /> WHEREAS, OSCER will be establishing a Pilot Program to ensure that public events <br /> and meetings conducted by the County of Hawai`i generate little to no waste, referred to as "zero <br /> waste events",therefore reducing the amount of waste emissions and products that would enter <br /> our landfill; and <br /> WHEREAS, OSCER is requesting funds to purchase large water jugs and containers, <br /> reusable food ware including plates, utensils, and cups, compostable materials, signage, compost <br /> and recycling bins, a scale for weighing how much waste is diverted from the landfill, and a <br /> mobile sanitation station and sanitation materials to establish this Pilot Program; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to support OSCER's pilot <br /> program to provide zero waste supplies and materials for public meetings. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
