STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> • §cF•H�Y+ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 510 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH <br /> SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR THE 2024 WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT <br /> GRAD NIGHT. <br /> WHEREAS,the Waiakea High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> that was established in October 2004 to administer grants to benefit students at Waiakea High <br /> School to support their academic careers in varying fields,provide funding to service clubs to <br /> kokua the community, and strengthen college readiness and robotics programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Foundation is collaborating with Waiakea High <br /> School Parent Teacher Student Association on logistics for the graduating seniors at Waiakea <br /> High School for the 2024 Project Grad Night; and <br /> WHEREAS, Project Grad Night activities are designed to provide a healthy and safe <br /> venue for graduates; and <br /> • WHEREAS,the Waiakea High School Foundation is requesting funds to defray the cost <br /> of transportation and activity equipment rental fees for the 2024 Project Grad Night for <br /> graduating seniors; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that <br /> promote the health, education, and well-being of the youth in our community with alcohol- and <br /> drug-free events such as graduation ceremonies; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School Foundation for the 2024 Waiakea <br /> High School Project Grad Night for graduating seniors. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
