W <br />I11� <br />COUNTY OF HAWAIII STATE OF HAWAIII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 524 24 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAI`I DEPARTMENT OF <br />HUMAN SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Department of Human Services has <br />authorized $1,000,000 to be provided to the County of Hawaii, Office of Housing and <br />Community Development through their 2024 Homeless Programs grant; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used to support the implementation and on- <br />going operational support of a new homeless shelter program; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br />federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br />powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br />in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, in <br />accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County <br />of Hawai'i is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and <br />related documents with the State of Hawai'i, Department of Human Services to <br />receive funds as indicated above. <br />
