COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 529 24 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII, HAWAII <br /> COMMUNITY COLLEGE <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department wishes to enter into an agreement with <br /> the University of Hawaii, Hawaii Community College (HCC); and <br /> WHEREAS, this agreement facilitates the process of awarding college credit <br /> towards the Hawaii Community College Fire Science Program to individuals who <br /> receive college level learning during training in the County of Hawaii, Hawaii Fire <br /> Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this agreement includes a ride-along program facilitated by the <br /> Hawaii Fire Department for individuals in the HCC Fire Science Program to receive <br /> hands-on learning and application of skills; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of <br /> Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement, and related <br /> documents with the University of Hawaii, Hawai'i Community College to support the <br />
