COUNTY OF HAWAItI <br />STATE OF HAWAFI <br />RESOLUTION NO. 545 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br />HAWAVI FOR ITS HAWAI`I ISLAND GOING HOME CONSORTIUM. <br />WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br />is to assist justice -involved men, women, and youth on Hawaii Island with reintegration into <br />community life through employment, education, training, housing, and supportive services; and <br />WHEREAS, Since 2004, Hawaii Island Going Home Consortium has been leading <br />efforts to provide and culturally responsive reentry and reintegration services to former offender, <br />their families, and communities; and <br />WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is requesting fiends to assist in costs to facilitate <br />meetings in both Hilo and Kona that will lead the Hawaii Island Going Home Consortium <br />through a multi -step process for evaluating progress, tracking outcomes and further the <br />development of the strategy map; and <br />WHEREAS, Going Home Hawaii is also requesting fiends to assist in processing and <br />compiling data for its Sequential Intercept Model report to be submitted to the County of <br />Hawaii for analysis; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support <br />programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working <br />collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early <br />intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on Hawaii Island; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief fiends shall be transferred to an accepting County depailment/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br />Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Hoene Hawaii for its Hawaii Island Going <br />Home Consortium. <br />
