COUNTY OF HAWAI`I •_ ''- �� • STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 550 24 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI- <br /> YEAR AGREEMENT WITH HAWAIIAN TELCOM, INC., REGARDING <br /> COMMUNICATION SERVICES FOR A NEW EMERGENCY <br /> COMMUNICATIONS CENTER IN HILO <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department desires to enter into a multi-year <br /> agreement for three (3) years with Hawaiian Telcom, Inc. for communication services at <br /> a new emergency communications center located at 540 Kupuna Place, Hilo, HI 96720 <br /> and a backup location at the Hawaii Police Department located at 349 Kapi`olani Street, <br /> Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, the communication services for this new emergency <br /> communications center will ensure continuous uninterrupted communication services for <br /> the Hawaii Fire and Police departments' emergency operations; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, <br /> lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later <br /> fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> 1.
