J+tY OF.. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI'I -•: .'k-' /_+- STATE OF HAWAI'I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 575 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br /> DONATION OF FUNDS TO BE USED TOWARDS TRAINING AND <br /> TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR THE "PROTECTING CHILDREN <br /> ONLINE" TRAINING TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I OFFICE OF <br /> THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY. <br /> WHEREAS, the Statewide Children's Justice Act Grant Task Force (CJA) is <br /> donating funds to the County of Hawaii Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for <br /> training and travel expenses, valued at approximately $17,370 for Deputy <br /> Prosecuting Attorneys and Investigators to attend the "Protecting Children Online" <br /> training in Maui, Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, this training will cover topics and modules such as Technology <br /> Overview, Innovative Approaches in Child Exploitation Investigations, Preparing <br /> and Presenting the Case in Chief, Search and Seizure of Electronic Evidence, <br /> Presenting the Expert Witness, and Trial Demonstrations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney recommends approval of <br /> this donation by CJA; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides <br /> that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities, or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; <br /> now therefore, <br />
