GOO 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND.ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF <br /> HAWAI`I YMCA FOR ITS FAMILY VISITATION CENTER. <br /> WHEREAS,the Island of Hawai`i YMCA (YMCA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, <br /> is guided by the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility and is dedicated to <br /> giving people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life the opportunity to reach their full <br /> potential with dignity; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA's Family Visitation Center maintains a safe venue for parents <br /> and children who have been victims of domestic violence by scheduling, coordinating, and <br /> supervising visitations as well as providing security services that help to prevent inappropriate <br /> behaviors from occurring in front of children while they visit with their non-custodial parent; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds for security staffing to provide supervision <br /> for children and families at its Family Visitation Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic violence <br /> prevention and intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life for Hawai`i Island residents; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawai`i YMCA for its Family Visitation <br /> Center. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
