REQUEST: <br />Request a Bill for an Ordinance to appropriate funds in the amount of $488,722.63 in federal funds for the <br />Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. These funds are new and will need <br />an appropriate revenue and expenditure account. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED <br />The Hawaii Fire Department (HFD) was awarded $ 488,722.63 in federal funds from FE'MA for the Fiscal <br />Year ( FY) 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) grant funding, opportunity. The County will provide a <br />10% cash match; <br />The FY 2023 AFG Program provides funding to establish a Hazard Zone Incident Command and a Control <br />Training Program to provide safe, effective, and efficient HFD emergency response operations.This project <br />will align -our hazard zone incident command practices with the OSHA General Duty Clause and National <br />Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Training Standards 1021, 1026, and 1861. <br />SIGNED: CRATE: AUG19 2024 <br />Department Head' <br />
