Of COUNTY OF HAWAIJ STATE OF HAWAPI RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WAIMEA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION FOR THE PURCHASE AND SHIPMENT OF FOUR OUTDOOR BENCHES FOR THE WAIMEA COMMUNITY. WHEREAS, Waimea Community Association (WCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve, maintain, enhance, and protect community values by embracing diversity while continuing Waimea's tradition of community building and community service; and WHEREAS, WCA worked with the Blue Zones Project, Parker Ranch, and the community to identify the best locations for outdoor benches that would benefit residents and visitors within the Waimea area; and WHEREAS, prior to installation, the outdoor benches will be modified to be more accessible to those with disabilities; and WHEREAS, WCA is requesting funds for the purchase and shipment of four outdoor benches, which will be installed along Ala 'Ohi'a Road in Waimea; and WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works supports collaborative projects that create a safe, resilient, and sustainable community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI that Contingency Relief funds from Council District I will be appropriated to the Department of Public Works to provide a grant to WCA for the purchase and shipment of four outdoor benches for the Waimea community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
