REQUEST: <br />Requesting a 3-year agreement with Diagnostic Labs Services Inc, for blood collection laboratory services. <br />B: BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED <br />The Hawai'i Fire Department (HFD) has an established Bloodborne Pathogen I Infectious DiseaseExposure <br />Guidelines which, in the event of a significant occupational exposure to blood or other bodily fluids in an <br />emergency response, the affected HFD personnel will check in to the nearest hospital ER for a medical <br />evaluation and a blood draw from their onsite laboratory. Diagnostic Laboratory Services Inc. (DLS) has, as <br />of July 2024,. become the onsite'laboratory operator at three of the six hospitals on Hawaii Island. A Letter <br />of Agreement was drafted by DLS to establish a 30% discount for the necessary blood draw tests for a three- <br />year period ending June 30, 2027.
