Y Os H,q�. <br />COUNTY OF HAWAPI STATE OF HAWAPI <br />�T�`oF'H►:P <br />RESOLUTION NO. 640 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HOLUALOA <br />VILLAGE `OHANA FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH ITS 22ND ANNUAL MUSIC <br />AND LIGHT FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, the Holualoa Village `Ghana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br />objective is to promote the history and lifestyle of Holualoa Village through historic preservation <br />and documentation of its buildings, businesses, and people; and <br />WHEREAS, every December, Holualoa Village `Ohana rolls out the holiday red carpet, <br />inviting visitors and residents to ring in the holidays Hawaiian style by lighting tip the night with <br />the annual lighting of the town Christmas tree, plus an appearance by Santa, lots of live music, <br />gallery gatherings, art openings, food, drink and more; and <br />WHEREAS, the Holualoa Village `Ohana will host its 22" d Annual Music and Light <br />Festival event on December 7, 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the Holualoa Village `Ghana is requesting funds for venue fees, special <br />duty officers, portable lua's, signage, banners, posters, flyers, and programs for its 22"d Annual <br />Music and Light Festival; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Research and Development is to <br />increase the economic contribution of the visitor industry to Hawaii Island, promote quality <br />experiences for visitors, and promote a high quality of life for Hawaii Island residents; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to the Holualoa Village `Ohana for expenses <br />associated with its 22nd Annual Music and Light Festival. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
