COUNTY OF HAWAIJ STATE OF HAWAIJ <br />OF <br />RESOLUTION NO. 649 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NA'ALEHU <br />THEATRE FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL ALOHA SHIRT FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, Nd'dlehu Theatre is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br />present and produce educational programs in the performing arts including drama, dance, music, <br />and Hawaiian cultural programs; and <br />WHEREAS, Nd'dlehu Theatre is hosting the 3rd Annual Aloha Shirt Festival that will be <br />held October 3-6, 2024, at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa, which is a celebration of <br />Hawai'i's fashion legacy, combining both traditional and contemporary wearable arts to <br />showcase the islands' unique contributions to the industry; and <br />WHEREAS, the festival offers a range of cultural and creative experiences each day <br />including live music and hula, a pop-up marketplace, workshops, a lei competition, fashion <br />shows, and a vintage "aloha wear" exhibit; and <br />WHEREAS, Nd'dlehu Theatre is requesting funds for a hula hdlau to hold the festival's <br />opening cultural protocol and a series of traditional workshops and demonstrations; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug -free and alcohol -free <br />events that enrich the lives of community members; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIJ that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Nd'dlehu Theatre for the 3rd Annual Aloha Shirt <br />Festival. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
