The subject properties are located at 16-790 Kea`au-Pahoa <br />Road, approximately 125 feet southeast of its intersection with Mamaka Street, Kea`au, Puna, <br />Hawaii. <br />At its September 9, 2024, hearing, the Commission voted to amend Condition E (Water System <br />Improvements). The amendment removed the requirement for specific water system <br />improvements but still requires the applicant to meet the Department of Water Supply's <br />standards and requirements. This change was made at the applicant's request, as they may work <br />with Hawaii Health Systems Corporation to improve the water system if a medical clinic is <br />developed on the property in the future, and they wanted to avoid the need to amend prescriptive <br />language in the ordinance. <br />The Commission concurred with the Planning Director's following reasons for a favorable <br />consideration of the request.
