No. 662-24 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 662-24, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 662-24, transmitted by Director of Finance Diane Nakagawa via Communication <br /> No. 1087, dated September 27, 2024, authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to award <br /> funds to Hawai`i HI-Diving Friends. <br /> This resolution provides $62,850 of grant funds for the Charles "Sparky"Kawamoto Swim Stadium <br /> Dive Tower New Staircase project. <br /> Parks and Recreation Director Maurice Messina, Finance Director Diane Nakagawa, and David <br /> Freedman of Hawai`i HI-Diving Friends were available for questions. <br /> Mr. Freedman and Mr. Messina provided background on this measure. <br /> Committee Member Jenn Kagiwada, Committee Member Michelle Galimba, and Committee Member <br /> Susan Lee Loy commented in support. <br /> Committee Member Cindy Evans asked if it was possible to add the appropriate operating budget <br /> account and line item from which the funds would be debited on the B-52 form. Ms. Nakagawa stated <br /> that her department would consider it.
