COUNTY OF HAWAIII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAFI <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br />DONATION OF A SEARCH AND RESCUE CANINE WITH HANDLER <br />TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAVI <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Island K9 Association is donating one (1) pre -trained search <br />and rescue canine, including handler training and certification to the County of Hawaii Police <br />Department; and <br />WHEREAS, this donation, valued at approximately $25,000, will be utilized by the <br />Police Department's Kealakehe Station in West Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br />council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I, that <br />in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of <br />Hawaii, accepts the donation of this pre -trained search and rescue canine with handler <br />training and certification. <br />
