(]ffima of Research 8ervices, for <br />the Big Island Invasive Species Committee (BIISC), for $250,000.00 to control the spread of invasive species <br />in Hawai'i County. <br />The appropriation is from Ordinance 23-50, AGRICULTURE 010.161.5161.22.115. <br />Request to waive Finance Committee as the appropriation was discussed at the budget hearing. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />BUSC isoproject of the University ofHawai'i- Pacific Cooperative Studies Unit /PCS0.The committee ism <br />voluntary partnership of government, private and non-profit organizations, and concerned individuals. Their <br />mission is to prevent, detect, and control the establishment and spread of invasive species threats to <br />Hmvvai'i'a environnnent, eoonomny, and way of life.
