STATE OF HAWAII <br />,TF OF •N�� <br />RESOLUTION NO. bm 0 0 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KU ANUENUE FOR <br />ITS INAUGURAL INCLUSIVE PROM. <br />WHEREAS, Ku Anuenue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br />create and sustain space for and with mdhu and queer people, from keiki to kupuna and their <br />families and caregivers, to empower each other and our larger community with shared resources <br />and mutual support; and <br />WHEREAS, Ku Anuenue is hosting its inaugural Inclusive Prom at Sangha Hall at <br />5:00-9:00 p.m. on November 22, 2024, and all Hawaii County high school students are invited <br />to attend, as well as their registered guests from ages 13 to 20; and <br />WHEREAS, the purpose of the inaugural Inclusive Prom is to provide a safe space for <br />mahu and queer youth to flourish and enjoy living their authentic selves; and <br />WHEREAS, Ku Anuenue is requesting funding assistance to help purchase favors, <br />security, rubbish service, decorations, posters, flyers, printed tickets, and ticket cardstock for the <br />inaugural Inclusive Prom; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br />are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to support drug -free and alcohol - <br />free events for the community; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to Ku Anuenue to support its inaugural Inclusive Prom. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
