The subject property is located at 1078 Ahe Street, approximately <br />100 feet east of its intersection with Lei Lehua Street, Waiakea Homesteads, Waiakea, South <br />Hilo, Hawaii. <br />The Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation to the County Council with <br />amendments as proposed by the applicant. The applicant proposed a new condition (see <br />Condition C) to limit accessory dwelling units (ADU's) to one per lot. The applicant also <br />proposed to amend Condition M, which has been re -lettered to Condition N, to have the fair <br />share fee apply to newly created lots rather than units and provide a credit of one-half of the <br />estimated cost of the road rights -of -way to offset the full amount of the fair share for the road <br />and traffic improvements. <br />The Commission concurred with the Planning Director's following reasons for a favorable <br />consideration of the request.
