WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports sustainable <br />agricultural practices and community well-being by promoting educational opportunities <br />designed to build skills and capacity in the community; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to Malama 0 Puna to support the Black Sands <br />Beach Community Garden's Keiki Resilience Project. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $10,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />= 1 60_113#10=63 <br />010.161.5161.22 Department of Research and Development <br />Agriculture R&D OCE <br />115 Misc.
