COUNTY OF HAWA141 <br />RESOLUTION • 130 25 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT <br />AWARD OF $23,750 FROM THE URBAN SUSTAINABILITY <br />DIRECTOR'S NETWORK TO THE OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY, <br />CLIMATE, EQUITY AND RESILIENCE <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has been selected to receive a $23,750 <br />grant award from the Urban Sustainability Director's Network, a non-profit, tax- <br />exempt organization under section 501 (c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used to conduct a pilot project to train <br />county staff and partner community -based organizations in participatory <br />storytelling in relationship to place and what sustainability and climate action <br />means to our community; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br />provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br />of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br />real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br />which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br />be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience <br />recommends the acceptance of this grant award; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAFI <br />that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, <br />
