Ono, P.E. ("Mr. Ono") as Director for the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works, pursuant to Section 6-2.2 of the Hawaii County Charter. This appointment was effective on Monday, December 16, 2024. Mr. Ono has vast Engineering and leadership experience. He was the Vice President of SSFM International, Inc.'s Hawaii Island office. There he oversaw the administration and operations, including multi -million -dollar budgets. Prior to this role, he served as an Engineer for the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation. Prior to that role, he served as the Director of the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works. He has also been awarded Engineer of the year twice. Mr. Ono will serve a term co -terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 4, 2028. Pursuant to Rule 5(6)(a) of the Rules of Procedures and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawaii, I respectfully request that this nomination be placed on the next available Committee meeting.
