COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4G 25 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE AWARD OF FUNDS TO VARIOUS <br />NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR PROGRAMS ADDRESSING <br />HOUSING AND HOMELESSNESS BY THE OFFICE OF HOUSING <br />AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br />County Code (2016 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of $25,000 <br />to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br />grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in a resolution; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization that is registered and in <br />good standing in the State of Hawaii as a nonprofit organization and maintains a <br />501(c)(3) charitable designation from the Internal Revenue Service; and <br />WHEREAS, the organizations specified in "Exhibit A", which correspondingly <br />qualify as nonprofit organizations as defined above, will provide initiatives and <br />programs addressing housing and homelessness; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) <br />wishes to provide a total of $10,500,000 to these organizations as outlined in "Exhibit <br />A"; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI, in <br />accordance with Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii County <br />Code, the OHCD has approval to provide grants totaling of $10,500,000 to various <br />
