COUNTY OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION • <br />• • • - • • , - • • • <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has been selected to receive a $2,000 <br />grant award from Best Friends Animal Society, a non-profit, tax-exempt <br />organization under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards travel expenses for an <br />Animal Control and Protection Agency staff member to attend the 2025 Best <br />Friends National Conference; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br />provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br />of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br />real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br />which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br />be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Animal Control and Protection Agency recommends the <br />acceptance of this grant award; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`1 <br />that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, <br />and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the <br />Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this grant award. <br />
