The purpose is to remove the requirement for a use permit to establish <br />telecommunication antennas and towers in certain zoning districts, add application requirements, <br />and amend standards for the establishment of telecommunication antennas and towers. <br />On September 19, 2024, the Commission voted to forward a favorable recommendation of the <br />Director's request to the County Council. On October 15, 2024, the Commission's <br />recommendation was transmitted to the County Council for consideration, but the Planning <br />Department was informed that revisions to the draft bill were necessary to address legislative <br />format drafting errors and spelling, grammar and formatting errors, before it could proceed to <br />Council. <br />The draft bill was corrected, and the Commission considered the revised bill (Exhibit 213 in the <br />record) at its meeting on November 21, 2024. The Commission voted to forward a favorable <br />recommendation to the County Council based on the Planning Director's recommendation.
