REQUEST: <br />January 23, 2025 <br />PHONE. (808) 961-2277 <br />The Hawai'i Police Department is requesting the creation of a full-time Custodian/Groundskeeper I position <br />within the Administrative Services Bureau, Technical Services Division, Communications, that will be <br />assigned to clean and maintain the new Communications Call Center. <br />B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br />The Communications (Dispatch) section will be transferring to a new communications call center that will be <br />combined with Hawaii Fire Department Communications. The Communications section is currently located at <br />349 Kapiolani Street where janitorial services are provided by the ARC of Hilo. However, once the new call <br />center is occupied, the Department will be unable to use ARC of Hilo services. After extensive research and <br />discussion, it was determined that a Custodian/Groundskeeper position will need to be created. <br />The creation of a custodian/groundskeeper position will ensure that the facility is routinely cleaned and <br />maintained, to include, but is not limited to, wiping, dusting, and polishing office furniture, desks, cabinets, <br />countertops, etc.; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, hallways, stairways, etc.; disinfecting floors, <br />urinals, toilets, basins, countertops, etc.; cleaning entrance way, sidewalks, parking areas; sweeps, picks up <br />debris, and water plants; and other related duties as necessary. <br />AIeIEM <br />DATE: 01 /23/2025 <br />
