STATE OF HAWAII 1TF OF.N►'� RESOLUTION NO. 83 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAMAKUA HEALTH CENTER, INC., FOR THE `A`OLE VAPE TEEN DANCE IN HONOKA`A. WHEREAS, Hdmdkua Health Center, Inc. (HHC), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves Hawaii Island by providing accessible, affordable, quality health care and educational services with an emphasis on individual and community wellness; and WHEREAS, HHC is partnering with the Honoka`a community to organize the `A`ole Vape Teen Dance, which is an annual event to bring teens together in a safe and positive space, while reinforcing the values of community among the young generation; and WHEREAS, this free event will be held on March 14, 2025, at the Honoka`a Sports Complex and will include music, refreshments, fun activities, and school and sports supplies for all participants; and WHEREAS, HHC is requesting funds to help with disc jockey fees, snacks, juice, water, reusable water bottles, and miscellaneous school and sports supplies for the `A`ole Vape Teen Dance; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this outreach event as it provides diversified programs to address the needs and interests of the communities in a safe environment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hdmdkua Health Center, Inc., to help with expenses for the `A`ole Vape Teen Dance in Honoka`a. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
