In 2,000 characters or less, describe the project. <br />Phase I of the Community Cat Pilot establishes the critical foundation for managing community cats and helping citizens through: 1. Centralized Tracking & Management <br />System o Cat Tracker Software: A digital system to log colony locations, caretaker assignments, and individual cat health records and coordinates efforts, o East Side <br />Trap Loan Closet: A system to encourage humane trapping efforts, ensuring compliance with best practices. Gives community access to traps. 2. Feeder Training & <br />Certification o Online Caretaker Certification Course: Training on responsible feeding, monitoring, and humane TNR (Trap -Neuter -Return). o Specialized Training — <br />Indigenous Species Protection: Focused education on minimizing risks to native wildlife like the nene. o Caretaker Badging/ID System: Verifying certified caretakers to <br />maintain accountability and prevent unauthorized feeding. 3. Equipment & Oversight for Compliance o Office Equipment: Phones (office and mobile) to support <br />communication between caretakers, response teams, and project management. o Part -Time Cat Coordinator: A designated individual overseeing compliance, training, <br />and caretaker coordination. 4. Trapping & Monitoring Equipment o Industrial -Strength Cat Traps: Used in humane trapping events for sterilization and relocation when <br />necessary. o Trail Cameras for Monitoring: Deployed in high -traffic areas to track colony activity and prevent illegal dumping. o TNR-Related Supplies: Includes cat food, <br />gloves, and sanitation materials to support humane trapping efforts. <br />*49. 501(c)(3) Mission Statement <br />To improve animal welfare through community- driven solutions that reduce shelter intake, increase access to care, and empower the community and our government <br />with expert -level knowledge and resources to develop practical, proactive, humane, and sustainable approaches to managing companion animals while protecting native <br />wildlife.. <br />*50.
