I 0OZ10, 9 2,5 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE OUTSTANDING OLDER AMERICANS <br />LUNCHEON ON MAY 9, 2025. <br />WHEREAS, the month of May is recognized as Older Americans Month (OAM), a time <br />to celebrate and honor the contributions that seniors have made and continue to make in our <br />community and nation; and <br />WHEREAS, OAM dates to 1963 when President John F. Kennedy, through a <br />proclamation, designated May as Senior Citizens Month, which was later renamed Older <br />Americans Month; and <br />WHEREAS, in honor of Older Americans Month, the Hawaii County Office of Aging <br />will be holding its annual Outstanding Older Americans Award Luncheon to celebrate and <br />acknowledge the remarkable contributions and efforts of our kupuna in the community; and <br />WHEREAS, OAM's event theme is "Flit the Script on Aging", aiming to transform how <br />society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Aging is requesting funds to assist with expenses for kupuna <br />lunches; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br />provide financial assistance for the 2025 OAM Luncheon. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $450 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $450 <br />010.411.5411.02 Office of Aging $450 <br />Office of Aging OCE <br />341 Misc.
