STATE OF HAWAI`I 1.54 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO NA PULAPULA INC., FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE KEA`AU FAMILY FUN DAY. WHEREAS, Na Pulapula Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to help enrich the community through family -centered events and provide memorable experiences that bring people together to foster a sense of unity; and WHEREAS, Na Pulapula Inc., is hosting the Kea`au Family Fun Day, an annual Easter event that was held at the Herbert Shipman Park on April 13, 2025; and WHEREAS, the Kea`au Family Fun Day was free to the general public with fun activities like egg hunts, waterslides, bounce houses, face painting, and picture taking with the Easer Bunny; and WHEREAS, Na Pulapula Inc., is requesting reimbursement for portable toilet rental, candies, items for games and contests, a face painter, and special -duty police officers; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that provide drug -free and alcohol -free events for the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Na Pulapula Inc., for expenses relating to the Kea` au Family Fun Day. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
