Kimura of Council District 2 to the Board of Appeals. <br />Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members, <br />I am pleased to nominate John T. Kimura from Council District 2 to serve on the Board of <br />Appeals. <br />Mr. Kimura was born and raised on Hawai'i Island and has been a resident of Hilo for 75 years. <br />He is a proud graduate of Hilo High School's Class of 1967 and holds an associate's degree in <br />electrical science from Hawai'i Community College. <br />Mr. Kimura founded JK Electric Inc. in 1988 and served as its President and CEO for 30 years. <br />He is a former board officer and an active volunteer with several organizations, including the <br />Hawai'i Island Contractors Association, Shipman Business Park Owners Association, HFS <br />Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, and the Naniakea Street Association. <br />If confirmed, Mr. Kimura will replace Ms. Stacey Aguiar and serve a term that ends on <br />December 31, 2029.
