I G2 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., FOR THE 39TH ANNUAL HAWAI`I KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., (LCKCFI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service projects and activities that meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation promotes, perpetuates, and encourages activities relating to culture, art, history, and humanities; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, is collaborating with LCKCFI to host the 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Dula Festival at the Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa on September 10-11, 2025; and WHEREAS, LCKCFI is requesting funds for printing programs and to hire local musicians in order to secure these services in this fiscal year for the 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival, which takes place in the following fiscal year; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., for the 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
