IG7 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KONA HISTORICAL <br />SOCIETY FOR ITS KONA BEEKEEPER LEGACY PROJECT. <br />WHEREAS, Kona Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to <br />collecting, preserving, researching, interpreting, and disseminating the history of Kona to <br />educate, enrich, and inspire the community and visitors; and <br />WHEREAS, Kona Historical Society is working with an exhibit curator to create a <br />museum exhibit that captures the history and honors the legacy of beekeeping in Kona for both <br />island residents and visitors alike to enjoy; and <br />WHEREAS, the multimedia exhibit, "From Humble Hives to Global Impact: The Story <br />of Kona's Beekeeping," will feature a documentary film, photographs, and artifacts, which will <br />be showcased at the H.N. Greenwell Store Museum from April to July 2025; and <br />WHEREAS, Kona Historical Society is requesting funds to assist with exhibit curator <br />fees and graphic designer fees for its Kona Beekeeper Legacy Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development collaborates with <br />community -based organizations to balance economic, social, community, health, and <br />environmental priorities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to Kona Historical Society for its Kona Beekeeper <br />Legacy Project. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
