cP COUNTY OF HAWAVI STATE OF HAWAII ,rF of N► RESOLUTION NO. IG7 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KONA HISTORICAL SOCIETY FOR ITS KONA BEEKEEPER LEGACY PROJECT. WHEREAS, Kona Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, researching, interpreting, and disseminating the history of Kona to educate, enrich, and inspire the community and visitors; and WHEREAS, Kona Historical Society is working with an exhibit curator to create a museum exhibit that captures the history and honors the legacy of beekeeping in Kona for both island residents and visitors alike to enjoy; and WHEREAS, the multimedia exhibit, "From Humble Hives to Global Impact: The Story of Kona's Beekeeping," will feature a documentary film, photographs, and artifacts, which will be showcased at the H.N. Greenwell Store Museum from April to July 2025; and WHEREAS, Kona Historical Society is requesting funds to assist with exhibit curator fees and graphic designer fees for its Kona Beekeeper Legacy Project; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development collaborates with community -based organizations to balance economic, social, community, health, and environmental priorities; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to Kona Historical Society for its Kona Beekeeper Legacy Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
