�JN`yo HiJ� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 172 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO LA`I`OPUA 2020 TO <br /> PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR ITS COMMUNITY MALA PROJECTS. <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization whose mission is to <br /> provide social, recreational,vocational, educational, and cultural opportunities to the <br /> communities in Kona; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of La`i`opua 2020's outreach efforts is its community mdia(garden) <br /> projects, which provides hands-on learning, food sovereignty education, and cultural engagement <br /> for youth,kupuna, and families alike; and <br /> WHEREAS, La`i`opua 2020 is requesting funds to purchase a portable generator and a <br /> tiller for its community mala projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support public <br /> programs that promote educational activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to La`i`opua 2020 to purchase equipment for its community <br /> mala projects. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
