1 <br /> /JNSV OF y,..'. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +_ -'-°-''�t.i.1 STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 1i 3 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HALE MUA <br /> CULTURAL GROUP TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE KING <br /> KAMEHAMEHA DAY CELEBRATION PARADE AND HO`OLAULE`A IN KAILUA- <br /> KONA. <br /> WHEREAS,the Hale Mua Cultural Group is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that is <br /> dedicated to preserving and perpetuating native Hawaiian culture and collaborates with groups <br /> that stabilize,restore, and maintain historical sites and offer educational programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, as part of the Parade Committee, Hale Mua Cultural Group is helping to <br /> coordinate the King Kamehameha Day Celebration Parade and the ho`olaule`a, which will take <br /> place at the Hulihee Palace following the parade on June 7,2025, in historic Kailua Village; and <br /> WHEREAS,the ho`olaule`a will feature cultural and educational events for the <br /> community including lei displays, live music,hula, crafts, food vendors,palace tours, and <br /> demonstrations of other cultural practices; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hale Mua Cultural Group is requesting funds to assist with expenses <br /> for a sound system and security for traffic control and public safety for the King Kamehameha <br /> Day Celebration Parade and ho`olaule`a; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports programs that provide <br /> educational activities and community events in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment, such as <br /> the King Kamehameha Day Celebration Parade and ho`olaule`a; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hale Mua Cultural Group to assist with expenses <br /> relating to the King Kamehameha Day Celebration Parade and ho`olaule`a in Kailua-Kona. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
