• COUNTY OF HAWAI I :__ . . ; STATE OF HAWAI`I •f r� .O N►...;; RESOLUTION NO. 175 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOPE SERVICES HAWAII,INC.,TO SUPPORT ITS YOUTH HOUSING UNITS. WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring to life gospel values of justice, love, compassion and hope through service empowerment and advocacy; and WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc.,has recently opened studio apartments in Hilo that serve youth aged 18 to 26,who are avoiding and overcoming homelessness by moving into these long-term affordable rentals; and WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., is requesting funds to cover expenses for furnishing five rooms with beds, frames,bedding, nightstands, and kitchen and bathroom basics; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support youth programs that promote public safety, education, and responsible lifestyle choices in alcohol- and drug-free environments; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc.,to support its youth housing units. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
