• <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI I :__ . . ; STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> •f r� .O N►...;; <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 175 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HOPE SERVICES <br /> HAWAII,INC.,TO SUPPORT ITS YOUTH HOUSING UNITS. <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br /> mission is to bring to life gospel values of justice, love, compassion and hope through service <br /> empowerment and advocacy; and <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc.,has recently opened studio apartments in <br /> Hilo that serve youth aged 18 to 26,who are avoiding and overcoming homelessness by moving <br /> into these long-term affordable rentals; and <br /> WHEREAS, HOPE Services Hawaii, Inc., is requesting funds to cover expenses for <br /> furnishing five rooms with beds, frames,bedding, nightstands, and kitchen and bathroom basics; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support youth <br /> programs that promote public safety, education, and responsible lifestyle choices in alcohol- and <br /> drug-free environments; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to HOPE Services Hawai`i, Inc.,to support its youth housing <br /> units. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
