.JMZY OS,,, ••' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI I • ;_ STATE OF HAWAI I <br /> 1tE DF• <br /> N,•1 <br /> BILL NO. 51 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4,ARTICLE 3, OF THE HAWAII COUNTY <br /> CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION,AS AMENDED),RELATING TO ANIMALS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE; COUNTY OF HAWAI`I: <br /> SECTION 1. Chapter 4, article 3, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as <br /> amended)is amended by adding a section to be appropriately inserted and to read as follows: <br /> "Section 4-3- . Feeding prohibited. <br /> (a) A person may not feed or attempt to feed a stray or feral animal on property owned <br /> by the County. <br /> (b) Anv person convicted of a violation of this section is subject to a fine not more than <br /> $50 for the first violation and not more than$500 for any subsequent violation. <br /> (c) For the purposes of this section, "feral"means undomesticated or living in a wild <br /> and unconfined state." <br /> SECTION 2. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance,the underscoring <br /> need not be included. <br /> SECTION 3. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br /> to any person or circumstance, is held invalid,the invalidity does not affect other provisions or <br /> applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or <br /> application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable. <br /> SECTION 4.
