festive,traditional,and cultural experience honoring our first monarch,King Kamehameha I on June 7,2025,the most celebrated Hawaiian <br /> holiday.Historic Kallua Village celebrates Its practitioners from Native Hawaiian family residents.Our festival is place-based education for residents,who are the <br /> participants and our audience.The planned project activities are performed in three areas of expertise.1)A pa'u workshop held on May 24 at Kona Historical Society, <br /> open to the public and invites past pa'u queens and princesses to narrate and educate new pa'u participants for this year's parade.Activities include protocols on riding, <br /> posture,poise,and demonstration of pa'u wrapping.An equestrian session is the highlight with senior pa'u riders displaying equestrian skills with attire and horse <br /> management.2)The parade on Kuakini Hwy towards All Drive,through Historic Kailua Village,on the morning of June 7 shows the regalia and opening precession of <br /> the Royal Court.They arrive in traditional feathered mahiole and feathered ahuula which authenticates ancient traditions.The audience is mesmerized with the <br /> authenticity of the Royal Court and embraces this extraordinary experience.The Royal Order of Kamehameha present a Hawaiian chant and hookupu to the Palace with <br /> grandeur.The Daughters of Hawaii dressed in white and riding in a horse drawn carriage or horseback captivates the audience.3)The Hoolaulea celebration on the <br /> Hulihee Palace grounds beginning at 11 am features musicians,hula and craft fair with craft persons displaying their handmade work. <br /> *43.501(c)(3)Mission Statement <br /> It's primary purpose is to preserve&perpetuate the Hawaiian culture,historical sites,and educational programs.We are dedicated to reviving and nurturing the <br /> traditional skills&values that once thrived within the original Hale Mua.From pahu making to traditional Hawaiian hale building and navigating by the stars,our <br /> programs are designed to empower Hawaiian youth and adults alike.By rekindling these andent practices,we help and encourage our community members. <br /> *44.In 1,000 characters or less,explain how the 501(c)(3)is connected to the project. <br /> Hale Mua Cultural Group,HMCG,a Kona based regal nonprofit entity founded in 1997,is the fiscal sponsor for the festival events and has been for over a decade now. <br /> Parade committee members and HMCG Officers work together to plan and administer the King Kamehameha Day Celebration Parade&Hoolaulea each year.They guide <br /> and instills that our environment"our aina"is precious to its people with safeguarding its traditions to <br /> preserve the culture and its aina.The program perpetuates the social stimulus for gathering its native people together and joining this event to celebrate each other and <br /> its history.Our goals are sustainable each year as we share the cultural perpetuation of the Native Hawaiian practices,traditions,language,dance,music,ancient <br /> practice in crafts&chants,and pa'u history&protocols with residents and visitors alike.The program demonstrates responsible tourism and each year our audience <br /> Increase.The economic outcomes are immense for our community.Our advertising is extended to increases attendees arriving from the mainland and International <br /> places.We have monitored through surveys the destination zip to track our audience.The essential goals bring equitable economic outcomes for our community's <br /> residents who are working in restaurants,hotels,shops,and markets and advertising companies&their employees.Our hotels are busy with visitors who plan their <br /> vacations around this special event.Employment in restaurants,shops and markets flourish during the week prior of June 11,June which is a shadow month and sales <br /> are welcoming.The Native Hawaiian practitioners bring their horses for the pa'u units and entry floats receive reimbursements&income.There are economic levels <br /> increased for stipends for parade security,marshals,practitioners,exhibitor sales,print advertising,and supporters increase their branding through advertising spots on <br /> posters,radio,and television. <br /> *48.For the project you are applying for,do you currently have or expect to have a contract/agreement
