The 2025 Celebration of Life marks the 21st anniversary of Hawaii Care Choices'signature community event, dedicated to honoring the lives of loved ones who have
passed.Held on May 25,2025,this powerful gathering brings together over 2,500 residents and visitors from across Hawaii Island to remember, reflect, and heal.
Rooted in the rich cultural traditions of Hawaii, the event features Hawaiian practices such as oh(chant),pule(prayer),mete(song),and hula, along with other cultural
expressions like the Japanese Bon Dance, creating a deeply inclusive and spiritual atmosphere.Participants engage in meaningful remembrance activities such as
lighting floating lanterns, sharing photos and stories, and writing heartfelt messages to their loved ones.Driven by volunteers, community organizations, and in-kind
donations, the Celebration of life is a labor of love and collective healing.Planning is led by a dedicated committee of staff and volunteers, with months of preparation
focused on sponsorship, outreach, and honoring cultural protocols.Through music, dance, ceremony, and community, the 2025 Celebration of Life offers a space where
grief is met with compassion, and memories are cherished in a spirit of aloha. It is more than an event—it is a reminder that love lives on.
