.�JN�yoF N1'' '' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •: °• STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> • • <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 193 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> 1 AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> 1 DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GRASSROOTS <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GROUP FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO THE BIG <br /> ISLAND DANCE COUNCIL'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY SHOWCASE. <br /> WHEREAS,the Grassroots Community Development Group is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization that supports individuals and groups that provide programs, activities, events, <br /> projects, and educational workshops that benefit the public,free of charge; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Grassroots Community Development Group and Big Island Dance <br /> Council(BIDC) are cohosting the BIDC 50th Anniversary Showcase, which will feature various <br /> events such as: <br /> • Hip-hop Jam and Skate Jam on July 19,2025, at Kurtistown Park; and <br /> • "4 the Love"hip-hop series on July 25,2025, at Herbert Shipman Park(Kea'au <br /> Armory); July 26, 2025, at Wailoa River State Recreation Area(pavilion); and July 27, <br /> 2025, at Moku`ola Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Grassroots Community Development Group is requesting funds to <br /> secure expenses in this fiscal year for sound equipment,banners, flyers, event insurance, and <br /> honorariums for the anniversary events that will take place in the following fiscal year; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide drug- <br /> free and alcohol-free events for the community; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Grassroots Community Development Group for expenses <br /> relating to the Big Island Dance Council's 50th Anniversary Showcase. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
