4o;M`Y OF............ <br /> . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •� �"'�=����•I STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 196 25 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH <br /> KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> RELATED TO THE KOHALA RIDE WILD CLUB IN NORTH KOHALA. <br /> WHEREAS, for a decade,the Kohala Ride Wild Club has provided the local youth of <br /> North Kohala with safe and fun opportunities to work with horses and cattle, many of which are <br /> formerly neglected or rescue animals; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Kohala Ride Wild Club perpetuates the proud paniolo heritage of <br /> Kohala,teaches proper horsemanship and rodeo skills to children of all ages, and works to keep <br /> at-risk youth engaged in productive behaviors and positive experiences; and <br /> WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center, a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization, is working in partnership with the organizers of the Kohala Ride Wild Club to <br /> continue serving the youth of North Kohala through its free weekly program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center is requesting funding <br /> assistance to help purchase necessary insurance, animal feed, and veterinary costs for the <br /> operations of the Kohala Ride Wild Club; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this project as it is in keeping <br /> with the goals and objectives of the department to support public programs that provide Hawai`i <br /> County residents, especially young people,with fun activities in a safe, drug- and alcohol-free <br /> environment; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to assist with <br /> expenses related to the Kohala Ride Wild Club in North Kohala. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
